This is by far the best lecture and professor I have even had the honour to have. It has brought a whole new perspective into my learning journey and I am so grateful.
This class is an example of why students come to Carleton for Criminology in the first place. Out of my four years of university, this class has given me the most knowledge on criminology and criminal justice, and Kelly did the best job of teaching it in an engaging way.
This class was taught so well and Professor Lauzon was extremely engaging and knowledgeable. She had so many interesting stories, experiences, and content that provided understanding and knowledge. The topic of wrongful convictions is so important for people to know and learn since it really can happen to anyone and the content is very digestible and relatable. I would recommend this course to anyone and would absolutely take a class with Professor Lauzon again!
Kelly has an amazing ability to foster conversation and encourage a wide range of opinions to be heard in the class, I have never felt more comfortable in a post secondary class in sharing my opinion and participating in the conversation. Her obvious passion for the subject is passed on to the students and I am grateful to have had the privilege to be a student in this class. Kelly also invites guests and creates a connection from the material to the real world, with real people and their stories. I am grateful Carleton has a professor like Kelly and will encourage all my peers to take this class as well. This class was a real treat in my post secondary experience and one I will forever look back on fondly. Truly one of the best classes (if not the best class) I have taken. I always wanted to come to class and always wanted to participate, I thank Kelly for this semester and hope this class is taught to more students for years to come.
I have never experienced a seminar like Kelly's where all students are
encouraged and actually want to speak their mind. Kelly created a safe space for personal opinions without judgement or hostility. Kelly made a true effort to get to know each and every one of us, all of our names, and our stories. The course was also very engaging and thought provoking.
She puts so much care into her research and makes it interesting for students. I really enjoy how she encourage participation and makes the classroom a safe environment for a wide range of perspectives.
The content of this course is very interesting, especially for students who have never been exposed to this material before. Kelly makes sure to facilitate/encourage
discussion and give every student the opportunity to participate and be heard. I really enjoyed this course! Its clear that Kelly genuinely cares about her students success and it shows!! I genuinely looked forward to this class every week.
I loved this class! I was so excited to come every week and learn new things and engage with my classmates! I wish I could give you some constructive criticism but I can't think of anything I would change about your teaching or the course, it was all around great!
Kelly is by far the most phenomenal professor I have had to date at Carleton. She is the most down to earth, intelligent and cool instructor. She connects to her class, she allows for ample participation instead of lecturing for 3 hours straight without engaging us. She deserves to be recognized for her hard work and I truly think she is one of a kind. Grateful to have had her in my 4th year.
